I expect Arenas and the Wiz to struggle against the more athletic Hawks on the road tonight. Arenas had a nice coming out party against the Mavs, but he’ll have to do even more to give Washington a chance here. I think you’ll see Washington really missing Antawn Jamison tonight against a deep and versatile Hawks lineup.
The Hawks did not play their best, especially on the defensive end, and they still won their season opener by 11 over the Pacers. You can bet Atlanta will be much more focused on the defensive end this evening in its first division game. Washington went only 3-13 ATS vs. division opponents last season, losing by an average score of 87.6 to 98.9. Arenas is back but Jamison is out so that figures out pretty evenly in my book. Lay the points.
